Project

Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys

The project aimed to deliver permanent accommodation to a 1FE expansion that over the years had been accommodated in mobile classrooms. The scope of works included a new teaching block and external works to improve traffic flow on and off the site. This was achieved by creating a coach drop-off / pick-up area and increasing the parking capacity on the site. The existing dining hall was also extended to allow for the increased pupil numbers.

Strief

The project was phased to avoid disruption to the school and some of the phases of works were programmed for holiday periods to enable safe access. The new teaching block was constructed using modern methods of construction to enable the construction programme to be minimised.
The project was fully handed over in August 2022 in time for the start of the academic year.
Woodley Coles LLP provided full Quantity Surveying services on behalf of Kent County Council.
