Ellington Park Regeneration Project
The project includes for the construction of a new Café, renovation of the historic flint terrace with new stone balustrade, Bandstand renovation, and the regeneration of the wider park, including pathways, signage, play area, planting and general landscaping improvements.
Woodley Coles worked closely alongside Thanet District Council, the design team (inclusive of architect and landscape architect) and the local community group Friends of Ellington Park, in support of the Heritage Lottery Round 2 submission. Upon securing round 2 funds the project commenced on site October 2020 and completed December 2021 with Woodley Coles LLP providing both Project Management and Cost Management / Quantity Surveying services.

The project was procured via a single stage competitive procurement process. A Project Execution Plan EP was developed and followed. A strict reporting regime was maintained with Stakeholders fully engaged, and kept up to date, throughout. A strict Change Control was implemented to cost control against the finite budget. The project was awarded a covered Green Flag Award in 2022 with a second award in 2023 and also secured two Ramsgate Design Awards.
